I am told that the name Barbour is/was very common in Dumfires.
I would love to hear from anyone with the surname or is researching the Barbour family.
So far I have searched my Barbour family back to Ayrshire in 1580. In the early 1900’s my Grandfather was in Dumbarton, where some cousins still are. We are now scatted in Scotland, England, Ireland, Canada and Australia.
