I have come across an ancestor, John Heatlie who was born 06 Sep 1866, and is listed as being born AT the Chirnside Mill. He is also listed as illegitimate, and his mother, Margaret Heatlie is shown as a personal servant.

Could Margaret have been a servant for the Mill's owners? How could I find out who owned the mill, or even who worked there? I'm wondering if there was a Heatlie employed there.
