Searching for TWO Cruickshank families. Both emigrated to Musquodoboit, Nova Scotia about 1803 "from No. Britain".

James Merklin Cruickshank [b. 1753 Banff]; m. Elizabeth Gordon in Scotland. Elizabeth b. 1779. They came to Nova Scotia in 1803 [with children], and later moved on to America--Minnesota. I am tracing their daughter Nancy. James Merklin Cruickshank's family came from the Parish of Cromdale, Spey-side. [I am still trying to learn where this is...if you know, please** share the info.]

Relatives of this couple also emigrated, including "Big Andrew" Cruikshank...who married Nancy, above. Andrew's father is said to be JOHN CRUICKSHANK, brother of James [they also had half brothers who went to the Indies.]
