Can any kind person look up the 1851census index and see if Mary Gebbie born c 1793 and living in Loudoun is listed as born in Muirkirk? She may be living with her son Robert Gebbie at Nether Newton Farm. Cheers Robbie

Thanks very much for your very prompt reply. I really appreciate you sendingng the information and it confirms that Mary was my ancestors sister. She was born Mary McCartney in Muirkirk in 1793 and the only other possibility was an other Mary McCartney who was born in Avondale.
