The Database for the Ayrshire Casualties for World War Two has been released. There are not as many entries as WWI, as many of the entries are in the
normal
Herald intimations [see the
Herald databases on this site]. However, nearly every entry has a photograph.

click on `Ayrshire World Wars Casualty Databases`
You will see the information listed in the database and a list of event codes. In the Misc column, if it states P then than means there is a photograph of the solder in the entry. Also listed are codes for ranks and regiments and some regimental photographs.
Instructions are given on how to obtain copies of any records you find.
If you are already a user of the other databases on the site, you do not need to apply for a username/password as you use your existing one. If you do not have a username/password then you need to apply for one [this is free]. Follow the instructions and when you receive the confirmation email you must click the link to confirm your email address. Please make sure your email address is correct when applying or you will not receive your confirmation email.
