I believe that the Maclachlans came from Ireland and the surname would originally have been spelt the
Irish way.
I am not sure exactly what part of Ayrshire they were connected to, but the Maclachlans were linked to St Quivox in
Ayr. The second
Kennedy group may have been connected to the
