All the information matches. My grandparents were married in Rainy River. After my grandmother passed away my grandfather moved out west to Alberta where he passed away in 1941. We have one living relative left on my fathers side, her name is Mina Ducasse, and she lives in Dryden. I hope this matches any of your records. Please Respond.

Hi Trisha,

My Grandfather, William was born in 1871 in Dreghorn, the son of William McQuaker and Margaret Cowper. William and Margaret were married in 1866 in Colmonell.

My Greatgrandfather, William was born in1840 in Ballantrae, the son of Andrew McQuaker, and Margaret Wilson. Andrew and Margaret were married in 1837 in Ballantrae.

My 2GGfather, Alexander was born in 1806 in Ballantrae, the son of William McQuaker and Elizabeth Dalrymple. Wm and Elizabeth were married in 1800 in Inch, Wigtonshire.

We believe that our 3GGfather, William was born in in 1765 in New Luce, Wigtonshire, the son of John McQuaker and Margaret Douglas.

To date, I have not found the name Janet in my McQuaker familes. Elizabeth, Margaret, and Mary are common.

Hi Tammy,
WIlliam's not my grandfather, those ancestors were those of Roderick McLeod, who was replying to my message. His ancestors seem to be more straighforward thatn mine - Sigh! :-)

Thanks anyway, maybe my Janet will turn up one day on someone else's family tree, when I can pin her down more accurately for date or place.

We have been tracing our family tree, and we have come across a Margaret Bertram Watson formally KERR, who married a Robert Murray Watson, and had a son call John Kerr-Watson born in July 24th 1899, in Saltmarket, Glasgow.
Maragret Kerr's father was John KERR, and her mother was Annie KERR formally Lauder.

P.S. We are not sure if this is a direct family link yet, we were tracing our family name which is Watson, but out grandfather changed his name from McMillan Mauchline.
