My husband Graham Garvie is descended from Jane Shearer and Charles Garvie. Their son John came to Australia in 1853, and another son George and his wife Charlotte Finlay came over in 1863 with 8 children. One of the girls was named Jane Shearer and another girl born in Australia was named Margaret. I have found a Helen Garvie, William Garvie and Elizabeth Garvie as siblings of George and John. Do you have any John Boyle's in your lists. I am looking for John Boyle who married Jane McHoull in 1844. Had three children John b 1845, Thomas b 28 Jan 1847 and Allan Thomas b 14 Sep. 1851. Family than went to Australia. Children were born in Gorbals I think, but family had a connection to Kirkoswald.

I don't think we link at all, but just thought it was strange im Julie Garvie, My dad is Graham Garvie and my grandfather is William /Garvie we are all from Edinburgh..
You mentioned Finley, we have Tinley in our Garvie line.

my dad was david charles mcquaker ,son of william charles mcquaker and edna may henry, they married aug 16 1941 in toronto ontario.my g grandfather was david and agnes jane (hastings) mcquaker.his father was william and margaret mcquaker. and his dad was andrew and margaret mcquaker.
i am missing dates onh both the william and andrews families,would like to get mor info on them,i also have short stories on agnes,davey,william, and andrew mcquaker and there life history sort of speak.if ya wanna talk n exchange info.. truckersgf@hotmail.com

i have an ex aunt janet mcquaker who was married to james mcquaker, son of william and edna mcquaker.but to date its the only janet ive heard of,also mina ducausse was also my g aunt and she passed away 2004,she will be buried in pine hill cemetary in scarbourgh ontario in spring 2005.the last of the era as my dad says.she will be forever embedded in my heart.would love to exchange more info
