Hi Kelly,
Did either of the marriage entries in the OPRs state where Thomas was born?
During that time period, they werent really `immigrants` moving from Ireland to Scotland as both countries were part of the UK, so they were just moving from one part to another.
As the parents of Thomas were OAPs in the 1841 and 1851 censuses, have you checked the Poor Relief for Maybole to see if they made a claim there? These have not been indexed yet and a list of the LDS Film Numbers are on the Maybole site at: http://www.maybole.org/history/Archives/fhlfilms.htm
Once you have a date and location you can check for MIs to see if their birth location is mentioned on their headstone.
