Is there any way to find records from a funeral home from 1911.I've got a bill from John Lyon Funeral Undertaker from Oct 9 1911 and was wondering if there was any way of looking up the Undertakers records.
Also it says to Irvine Cemetery , would that be the name of the Cemetery or just the that the cemetery was located in Irvine.

Thanks
Barry

Hi Barry,

Email Ayrshire Archives and ask if they have the business records for the company. http://www.ayrshirearchives.org.uk/

Most towns have their own cemetery, but they also can have other cemeteries as well.

You can email the local historian and ask for a lookup in the MIs, this will tell you if the person had a headstone. Email on the Ayrshire GenWeb Page at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~sctayr/

Ask if they have the cemetery records for the period you are researching. If not, ask the local council cemetery department but you need a date of death as well as the name of the person.
