I am looking for information on the Young family that lived in Kilmarnock in the 18th century. Andrew Young was born in 1778 in Kilmarnock, Ayr. He married Agnes Braydon who was born in 1783 in Mauchline, Ayr. They had a daughter Margaret Young who was born in Galston in 1806 and died in Paisley, Renfrew in 1885. She married Michael Cochran in 1825 in Loudon, Ayr. Her parents were living with them in the 1851 Census in Paisley, Renfrew. Andrew Young worked as a cow feeder.

Would this be a son or nephew of George Young and Janet Parker who lived at Craighall Farm in Kilmarnock.

Andrew Young, son of Andrew Young and Margaret Howie , was born in 1777 in Kilmarnock, Ayrshire, Scotland and died on 25 Nov 1862 in Paisley, Renfrew, Scotland, at age 85.

Census: 1851, 5 Wellwadow St, Paisley, Renfrew, SCT. Andrew Young, Head, 73 Cow Feeder Dairyman, Ayr Kilmarnock. Agnes Young , Wife , 68, Mauchline. They lived with son in law , Michael Cochrane and daughter Margaret.

Andrew married Agnes Brydon on 24 Jun 1803 in Mauchline, Ayrshire, Scotland.

Children from this marriage were:
i. Margaret Young (born in 1806 Galston, Ayrshire, Scotland - died on 17 Feb 1885 in Paisley, Renfrew, Scotland). Margaret married Michael Cochrane on 16 Jul 1825 in Loudoun, Ayrshire, Scotland.


ii. Elizabeth Young was born on 9 Feb 1818 in Kilmarus, Ayrshire, Scotland and was christened on 15 Mar 1818 in United Presbyterian, Kilmarus, Ayrshire, Scotland.

So long answer is I do not think he is related to the family you mentioned.
