My husband is a descendent of Matthew Dalziel, the son of Gavin Dalziel and Martha Currie; and Agnes Boyd, the daughter of John Boyd and Jean Wright. Their son William L Dalziel, born in Rangiora, New Zealand, 26 March 1866, emigrated to the US about 1884. I would be very much interested in finding out about their other descendents and their lives in New Zealand.

I've recently received photocopies of letters written to Matthew and Agnes after they left Fenwick, between 1852 and 1855. The letters were written by John Boyd and Maggie Boyd, Agnes's father and sister; Janet A. Dalziel, Matthew's sister; and William Orr, The minister of the United Presbyterian Church at Fenwick. There is a lot of information in them, not only about the family, but other friends and neighbors living in Fenwick. I am preparing a list of people that are mentioned in the letters that I plan to post later.
The letters are copywrited or else I would post an entire transcription. I have permission to post a list of the people mentioned in the letters.

Here’s the list
