I am researching the McCabe's that lived in Beith in the 1860's through the early 1900's. I have a bit of information on the McCabe's, but looking to connect the marriages of Felix McCabe's sons and daughters.
Felix was married to Rose Ann McCormill. They had the following children.

Luke b. 23 Dec 1864, Kilbirnie.
Hugh b. 27 Nov 1866, Kilbirnie

James b. 8 Jul 1874, Beith, Ayr, Scotland.
Felix b. 13 May 1876, Beith.
Terrence b. ? Beith,

Can I pick up on the Girvan name? I have an Agnes Girvan in a side-line from my McKinstray family - in the 1830's in Maybole had a child, Alexander, with my GGGrandfather, Thomas. Any connection?

Hi Brian, I found a Ellen GIRVAN who married a Felix McCabe in 1902 in Kilbirnie, Ayr, not far from Beith. Felix's family is from Beith and my dad was born there in 1929.
I have sent for the marriage record and will see who her parents were and I can let you know more than.

I found her and Felix on the Scotlandspeople.gov.uk /GROS website. Have you searched it for any Girvan's?
It is very helpful and productive!

I've used Scotlandspeople but not yet for Girvan's - Agnes is not on my main line - my GGGrandfather had children by two women & Agnes is the start of the parallel line to mine - just wondered if I had come across descendants of her family. For you interest, I have noted Girvans in N/I while I have been trying to trace the McKinstray line prior to about 1815. There definitely seems to have been a fair amount of traffic between Ayrshire, Galloway & Ulster.
