I am interested in starting a Ferguson DNA project aimed at the Fergusons of Stewarton, Ayr, Scotland.

The process involves obtaining a swapping from the inside of the cheek of each known or suspected direct male descendant from a Stewarton Ferguson. The Y-Chromosome from the collected cells is examined for certain “markers” sequences of DNA. Two people having the same pattern of markers would probably share a common male ancestor.

Below I have listed all the male descendants of one line of Fergusons in Stewarton (minus the living individuals). I am sure others could be identified.
