Can anyone help me with a 1851 census lookup for Kilmaurs, I am looking for a ALEXANDER EASTON age 25, with his wife ANN age 31 and his step-children, JANE HOOD age 13, WILLIAM HOOD age 11, JOHN HOOD age 10, I'm not sure if there were anymore step-children after John. ALEXANDER EASTON and ANN MCGEE HOOD were married August 18, 1849 in Kilmaurs. I have a 1881 and a 1891 census for Kilmaurs, showing Alexander and Ann still living there until their deaths in 1891 and 1897 respectively. Thank you for the help.

The family were in Kilmarnock, not Kilmaurs in 1851.

The data below is from the 1851 index - I don`t have access to the 1851 for Kilmarnock so you will need to obtain the rest of the data. You can ask for a lookup on the list, ask the East Ayrshire local historian librarian or order the film at your LDS FHC.
