In 1950 or 1951,a dentist named Adam
Connell McKechnie moved into a house on our street in Chingford-a suburb in N.E.London.He was from
Ayr,aged about 55 at the time, very dapper diminutive man with a little wife to match, plus an attractive daughter who met and married an
English fellow, probably in '53.A nice family,Mr. McK practised in Finsbury
Park briefly,then at Romford,
Essex and from 1954 on New North Road in Hainault,
Essex.
Why they left
Ayr so late in his career I do not know.Seemingly they gave up a nice big home, and at first could only afford a basic semi in Chingford.
Well,I guess he is the Adam you mention, this is all I know of them-except Mrs.McK had visits from an
Ayr friend called Mrs. M(a)cMillan.Mrs.McK passed away in 1955,only 60.Mr.McK then vanished from our lives.
