I am filling in the gaps in the segie line.
This Ann's parents were George and Ann Lambie. If someone is linked ti this line then please contact me.Thank you

I host the Lambie mailing list on Rootsweb, if you are interested I could sign you up as a subscriber.

I don't see any direct connection between my Lambie's and yours at the moment (although they would only have lived a few miles apart) but here is your George and Ann in the 1881 census if you don't already have it.

The spelling is unimportant in census records. Enumerators would spell a name the way they thought it sounded. My Great Grandfather Daniel Lambie was recorded as Daniel Lamby.

Also, many Lambie families started as Lammie and later changed the spelling.

The combination of George and Ann is rare, it would help if you had some idea of dates to work with.

Good morning. This is what I have learned of our connection to the Lambie family.George married Ann Lambie,[different lambie ], around the 1900's.They had David 1916 in Stevenston, followed by Ann McKechen in 1918, again Stevenston.Young Ann married James Seggie. All I need to complete that connection is their marraige date and and both d.o.d.Thanks.

Hi Sheena

Given this new information I can tell you quite a bit about the ancestors of Ann Lambie. Check out Graham Wilson's Stevenston Lambie history at www.ayrshireroots.com where James Seggie is mentioned.

Recent records (the last 100 years) are more difficult in the UK because of data protection legislation. You would probably have to purchase the relevant certificates.

Hi.Shona
I found the Lambie connection whilst researching my Seggie line on my Dad's Mother's side. I also received some info from another Lambie connection. You may have it but i'll post it anyway. Ann Lambie's parents were Thomas Lambie and Ann McKechan.
Young Ann maried George Lambie. [ -from another Lambie family] around 1900's.Young Ann was born May 02 1880, Stevenston Ayrshire. They had 2 children.
David born 1916 Stevenston.and Ann McKechan Lambie born 1918 Stevenston.
Ann married James George Seggie, born 1918 Saltcoats. Ayrshire.[ nephew of my Grandmother Rachel Seggie.] 1948 Kilwinning Ayrshire. James's Parents were James Seggie and Christine Murdoch. James and Ann had 3 children-. James-born 1950, Kilwinning: George [b-1952 d- Nov 16 2002]:and David Seggie.
I have more info somewhere but can not put my hands on it at the present. This info I got from a 5th cousin of George,David and James.
My family resource page crashed around July and as yet I have not fixed it-hopefully sometime!
Anyway this may help you.Let me know if you have anything to add.
kind regards .Sheena
