Trusting I have found the majority of the family of Robert & Jane
PICKEN GRAHAM within the 1841 census of Kilmarnock on these three streets, with the note "on
GRAHAM land."
It appears the DAVID, m 1806 to Agnes
STEVENSON is a brother to Robert, or he may be an uncle. In the 1851 business directory & census in
Paris, Ontario, Canada, a James 30 and John 32, owner of a cooperage. The family members that emigrated to
Paris, Ontario, lived in this cooperage and worked there the first years in Ontario.
In 1903, James B. GRAHAM returned to Kilmarnock, visited the business where his father worked (did not state the name) and he walked home and shared coffee at the same house with the same three boys (men) and girl (lady) that he skipped home from church with while he lived in Kilmarnock (b 1834 and emigrated with his parents in 1846).
There was a widow MARY
GRAHAM, and sometimes it was spelled Grayham, living on BACK STREET in 1841, aged 65, so we are thinking she was the mother of Robert. We are finding details for EACH family married to the
GRAHAM line, while we are NOT finding the
GRAHAM family, siblings, etc., to be listed.
Collecting details on the IGI, we have found a marriage for Robert to Jane
PICKEN on 1 FEB 1819. In the record Robert
GRAHAM is spelled
GRIM.
Jane is the daughter of Thomas (b 1755?) and Agnes ANDREW (b 1755?) m est 1775-6, with children:
John 1777 ? m Elizabeth Hendry 1814
Thomas 1799 ? m Jean
Paton 1814
Andrew 1781 died as a baby
Twins: Elizabeth 1783 possibly married; three options needing research
Rachel 1783 not a listing for a marriage
Janet 1790 Died as a baby
Janet 1791 ? m Wm Wilson
Andrew 1794 Two marriage options; needing more research
Margaret 1796 Three marriage options; needing more research
Jean 1798...and she married Robert
GRAHAM, we believe b 1797, m 1819.
Marriage 1 FEB 1819, with record stating Robert
GRIM!
Their children:
Euphemia b 1820, with Thomas
STEVENSON (m 24 JAN 1840)
Looking for parents of Thomas, stated to have been orphaned as a boy
Four brothers, emigrated to Ontario as of 1851
A sister was still living in
Glasgow, when a brother died in 1901
Adopted two MARTIN children, David & Rebecca
Euphemia & Thomas emigrated to
Paris, Ontario & supposedly lived in
the cooperage owned by her brother - however, it must have been
Robert's brother JOHN, and a brother, JAMES was also listed as a
COOPER, there. The 1851 business directory has provided a few extra
details, and this is being researched.
