Hi there,
I have to come back on this one again - I believe I may have found William & Margaret living in Symington in 1841.
I also found their marriage (or banns) on 8 Dec 1837 in Symington and the birth of a daughter Jean on 27 Jun 1841.
There were a number of Drynan families in Symington in 1841 and I believe they may all be related.
One of these families was John & Elizabeth Murphy along with their children James, Margaret, William & John.
John & Elizabeth were married (or banns) on 17 Jan 1835 in Symington.
Elizabeth was sister to Marion Murphy who married John McKail ( McHoul).
Their brother David Murphy was my 2xggfather.
It is early days yet but I am pretty sure I will be able to prove the connection.
In meantime I would welcome any detail you have on the Drynan/McKail connection.
Regards
Duncan
