My Grandmother, Margaret McCalman McKechnie was Suddys sister. She married William Hugh Gemmell in Oban in 1919 and moved to Connecticut. I'm aware of brothers Sutherland (Suddy), Rev. Johnnie, and sisters Isabella and Anne.
Let me know what you need and I'll try to get it for you.

Sir,
You are a man of keen memory!!

Edward McEachnie married Catherine McLachlan at Hill Farm in Airdrie in 1897....they had 4 boys, Donald,Edward,John,Sutherland and 4 girls Margaret,Isabella,Nan and Jean.
The children you speak of are Jeans..she married a William McDonald.....Katherine still lives at the St Ninians Road homestead...she married a Ford Scott who apparently departed this life fairly young

I've got documentation on the marriage of Edward McEachnies father, Edward McEachnie, to Isabella McGregor, daughter of John and Catherine McKichan McGregor, at Easdale in October 1858...I've got my grandmothers line back to John McCalman and Margaret Campbell ABT 1820

If there's anything more you need, just say the word!!

I've hit a Front, Sides AND back wall with my Gemmell line in Ayr,Refrew,Lanark so if you know of any Gemmells or Thomsons who may "have a clue"..please let them know of my "cry in the night"!!

Take care,Cousin!!

Peter

Hi Graham,

I'm Suddie's great-niece. If I can be of any assistance in your research, please let me know. From what I've seen of the messages on this site, you've been misinformed! Katharine Scott is my mother, and both she and my father Ward (not Ford) Scott are still very much alive!!
Let me know if you still want any family information. What is your connection to the McKechnie-Macdonald-Gemmell-etc. family tree?
Yours,
Maggie Scott

I am related to the McCalmans of Glasgow Lanark Scotland.

George Frederick was born to Donald McCalman and Peggy Cameron 1819. George's cousin was John McCalman (born around 1780s) married to Mary McDougall and I am told he went to South Africa. Is this John any relation to your John?

Thank you Bernadette
