James Makittrick ADAIR married Maria BARRELL
(from Faculty Office Marriage Allegations dated 20 Jul 1791).
His will is filed with the Bank of England (Bk 35 date 1801-3)
where he is described as MD of Ayr, North Britain.

Graduated at Edinburgh University.


#3. Charlotte HAMILTON b.1763 m.1789 James McKittrick ADAIR and she d.1806 Edinburgh. Charlotte HAMILTON was step-sister of Gavin HAMILTON of Mauchline who was landlord of Robbie Burns.
(This James McKittrick ADAIR has been noted by some Burns recorders that he practiced in Pleasance, Edinburgh then in Harrogate (Yorkshire ?) )
They had 5 children.
Was one of their children (a James McKittrick ADAIR) the husband of -
