My GGgrandfather was John Morton married to Elizabeth Cunninghame 18 Dec1835 at Tarbolton. They had 5 kids
William b14/10 1838 at Riccarton

Mary Anne 20/11 1842 Riccarton
William Jeffrey b 25/9 1844 Riccarton
Robert b1/2 1848 Riccarton

Agnes married Hugh Picken b1828.They had 5 kids
"Elizabeth b 26/6 1862 Riccarton"
Martha b 9/6 1865 Riccarton
Mary Anne b 19/5 1868 Riccarton
Robert b 25/9 1870 Riccarton
John b 1/6 1873 Riccarton

Elizabeth married John Adams.I don't know how many kids they had but one was my grandfather John Adams b 1895. He married Margaret Bigger Stewart in 1914.She was an only child.

Hugh Pickens parents were John Picken b1786 Martha Wilson b1791.They had 7 kids

Hi James I don't know if any family moved away from Ayrshire
to Edinburgh.I've come to a bit of a standstill. If I find anything I think you might be interested in I will keep in touch.Hope you'll do the same.Sorry I can't help at the moment. Thanks for taking the time to reply. Good Luck.

Surnames: Oicken, Belfrage, Ingram/Ingraham
James, my Picken branch lived in Edinburgh c. 1800 to c 1835. The Christian names were Ebenezer (father & son), Robina Belfrage (Sr's wife); dtrs Joanna, Catherine (emigr to Montreal) and sons Andrew Belfrage Picken and Henry Belfrage Picken (my ancestor), both of whom also came to Montreal. There could have been members who stayed there. Ebenezer Sr. was a published poet, as were his children Joanna and Andrew. Eb Sr's ancestors came from Riccarton, Ayr, and Paisley. Robina Belfrage was from Falkirk.
A question: do you know of Edinburgh artists who painted miniature portraits circa 1812? Our family does have them of this family. Gail Browne, London Ont Can
