I am interested in any additional information about Janet Kennedy, daughter of Rankine Kennedy and Helen Sloan born in Maybole, Ayr. John and Janet were married or had thier bans posted in 1825 on June 6th in the parish of Duthil & Rothiemurchus. He was apparently an inkeeper in Kingussie in Inverness-shire. He died 5.1.61 and she on 29.11.1868.They died in Edinburgh. They had three children, Elizabeth, Ellen, and possibly Jessie.

Any information about the family or proof of the existence of of the inn run by him etc. would be appreciated.

The Rankine Kennedy to which I referred was married to Helen Sloan in 1795. I have no other dates for him. They were probably married in Maybole, Ayre

rankin kennedy born 30.9.1799 who married janet merry on 24.6.1825. His parents were thomas kennedy and isobella reid his 19.4.1761 marriage 8.2.1793. it looks like were tracing the same people. rankines siblings agnes, janet, anne, jane, thomas 19.1.1806 james and robert thomas was born at irvine. i hope you find this is what your looking for. could you please show me your line that your doing, were probably related in some distant way. my great grandfather was thoams kennedy his6.8.1866 married jemima thomson on 25.2.1887 at kilmarnock, my dad,s a kilmarnock man, but the ancestors were from maybole way. wendy
