I have MURRAY in my tree too. Not much info tho'. I have James MURRAY married Agnes Smith 1780.
Children were...James,Ann,John,Jean,Agnes,John and Marion who was my 3x great granny.
They were all born at Mauchline in Ayrshire.
Any of these connected to you?

I am also a descendant of James Murray and Agnes Smith (married 17 Dec. 1780 Mauchline, Ayrshire) through their son James Whiteford Murray (b. 17 Oct. 1782 Mauchline) and his wife Grizzel Mitchell. James and Grizzel were married on 8 Mar. 1805 in Mauchline. I only just found this family connection and do not have much information yet (other than on the direct line) but would be happy to share.
