I am decended from Dunlops of Ayr. my Grandpa was William Dunlop, born April 23 1911/ passed (God rest his soul) December 12 1974... I am trying to trace his line and my Grandmothers...My family in Ayr has been very gracious and generous about obtaining records (birth, marriage, banns, death etc.). Prior to the on-line services we were doing this the old fashioned way. If you could direct me to obtaining more documents I would appreciate it. I was born in Irvine, but left Ayrshire at the age of 12.Branches of this line are scattered all over North America, Australia, Japan and Canada..Thankyou in advance Laura

Look up?

I have copy of a letter sent to my Granpa from Butlin's Holiday Camp. 13th July 1960. My Uncle was killed while employed there, he was 24. Is this amusement park still in operation there, would there be pictures of it somewhere? Is anyone familiar with it? Also How do I get a look up for a grave site..it is in the Ayr Cemetery, extension 1951 Section Delta No. 1272, I believe that is where My Grandpa rests, maybe my Uncle as well. thanks all who have been so very kind and helpful.TTFN truely Laura Mary

The connection I have to Dunlop is: Helen Campbell Orr married James Dunlop 1870. They had a son, Thomas Orr Dunlop, born 30 Aug 1870. He was the witness on my grandfathers (Robert Orr died 1903)(listed as nephew) death certificate. Robert Orr lived in Saltcoats. I am hoping to reach living family of Thomas Dunlop.Thank you, Penni
