I was reading through this page, just having a look.
i am a Jamieson, as are both of my parents (they are not related!) and both sides of the family tree have been traced. My fathers side of the family has been traced back to 1720 and the family has lived in Beith ever since.
the earliest Jamieson on the tree is Alexander Jamieson and he was born in Beith in 1768. we have a lot of photgraphs of our ancestors and lots of Beith old town. I don't live their any more but my parents and my grandparents do.
I hope this is of use to me.
Also my brothers girlfriend is also called Jamieson and she is from Kilbirnie.

Anne Jamieson.

please e-mail me if you want more info

Searching for connections of my ggg grandmother Mary Pettigrew who married John Lightbody 1845 in Tarbolton Ayr. We have very little information at this stage.
Any connections would be greatly appreciated.

I have a John Pettigrew married to a Martha Barr in 1854 living in Dalry, which is near to Beith. He is a brother to the line I am researching. I have details of his children if you would like them and if they tie in with your research.

I have some details of a Mary Petticrew born circa 1820 the daughter of John Petticrew and Elisabeth Gregg of Tarbolton. Is this the same Mary do you think?

I was just going over the 1871 Census of Scotland for the Allanstor Croft, Leswalt where my great, great grandparents are shown, DANIEL MCKIE AND MARGARET MCKIE and their children and in this census is listed an ELIZABETH PETICREW as mother-in-law at age 80, born in Stoneykirk. Is she your relative?

I do have a relative Elizabeth Petticrew - she is my gggg grandmother, born Elizabeth Gregg, baptized 10 July 1791 at Mauchline ( I dont know if this is anywhere near Stoneykirk) , so the age is right. She died 16 August 1874 in Tarbolton. I dont have any record of her having a daughter called Margaret but it is one of the family names and it is possible. Do you think this is the same Elizabeth?
