I am looking for the families of Janet Hyndman(B: abt. 1821) - parents Samuel & Jean Hyndman 1841 Scotland census Vennel St. Dalry. Janet marries James Robertson(B:abt.1810) possibly abt. 1840. There is a James Robertson, labourer, listed in the Samuel Hyndman household 1841. The 1851 census shows James B: abt 1812 at Edinburgh, Midlothian. By the time the family shows up in Madison Co.,Illinois US 1870 census they have the following children (James,Samuel,Mary, Robert,Cunningham,Andrew, Martha J. and Samuel(#2).
Does any of this sound familiar and does anyone have suggestions where to look for the marriage record for James and Janet?

Im not researching either of your surnames,Im afraid,but I have noticed the surname Hyndman cropping up from time to time in the Stewarton,Ayrshire line Im presuming.I noticed this as its not a common name in Ayrshire & I do know someone of that Surname. I was looking at the Stewarton old parish records,not recent entries,probably 1700s
