I'm researching my paternal grandmother's family tree and Finella Boyle is my 7th great grandmother. She was the granddaughter of John Boyle or Boyll of Ballochmartin who is mentioned in the Kintyre Rentals as having received "his two charters of land at Lochhead, Wagill etc in 1609 but did not take sasine until 1618. He was succeeded in this estate by his granddaughter Finilla Boyll"

Finella Boyle married Hector aka Archibald McAllister of Loup, Askomilbeg etc.

I just wondered if there is anyone who has any information on John Boyle of Ballochmartin. Could he possibly be the son of Robert Boyle of Ballochmartin (1546-1572), son of John Boyle of Kelburn (<1477-circa 1555)? Does anyone know about this family?
