I don't know if your amazed - but I sure am. I have been trying to find out about my German Ancestory for years. My Mother and her parents were always very vague about any ancestory and never talked about it much. My Grandmother (Ellen) yes, and known as "Nell" used to tell me about her Grandfather who lived to over 90 and smoked a pipe and repeated constantly about he being the ships carpenter and how they met on the ship when coming over from Ireland. The German heritage was always not talked about - as it was kind of taboo. My mother has a photo of "Old woman Becker" at home. My nothing else. Do you have a link to the photo of my great great grandfather ? Do I need to pay a subscription to ancestory.com to acess it ?
