My 4th. Great Grandparents were: Malcolm McPherson(1734-1817) and his wife Christian Downie(1744- ? ). They came to America - N. Carolina in 1774 with their 2 children, William(1765-1825)& Janet(1764- ? ). The ships manifest stated they came from Glenurcha, Scotland which is probably called now Glen Orchy, located a few miles east of Oban. I have not been able to get a hint of their Scotland families and would be grateful for any information. I should be satisfied but am always trying. 7 more children were born to this couple in America after the Revolutionary War but I am descended from their 2nd. child, William. Thanks in advance.
