Hi -- new to researching the Downie line of my family, but was intriqued by your reference to "Glen Orchy". If you have any info. on this Downie family, please let me know -- thank you!!

MALCOLM Downie was born in 1797 in Blaravin, Glenorchy, Argyll, Scotland to parents Archibald Downie (est. b. 1769) and Euphemia Campbell. -- I haven't been able to find "Blaravin", and yours is the first reference I've seen to "Glenorchy" which I understand is a parish.

I do not know who the parents of Archibald Downie or Euphemia Campbell are, nor do I know any of their brothers or sisters names.

After immigrating in 1818 from Scotland to Canada, Malcolm (b. 1797) apparently married Isabella LEITCH (b. 1804 in North Knapdale, Argyllshire, Scotland) in Aldborough Township, Elgin County, Ontario, Canada. (though I have also seen an older reference that they married in Scotland).

Isabelle had immigrated in 1819 from Scotland to Aldborough with her parents John LEITCH (b. 1766) and Flora Johnston
