I have found Peter McCalmans' birth, 2 marriages, & death certificate(drowned in the Bay of Bowmore at the Quay his body was found..Catherine McCalman(I believe maybe your grandmother) died in 1846(?don't have it in front of me) Also Lily McMillan McCalman's death, she died a pauper(1901). Also I have found Peter had 2 other brothers, Godfrey(1797) & Hugh(1805). My grandfather,Duncan McCalman Currie, was Lily's daughter Lily McCalman's son. She also had a son, Neil McCalman Sinclair. Have no idea what happened to our family on Islay. My grandfather left Bowmore & lived in Largs til 1904. Died in Kilbirnie(1943) where my cousins still live. Just vacationed there in March. Do you still live on Islay??? What are your father's siblings names?? Wonderful to meet you!
