First, looking for Jean Nevell who posted about this couple in 2001. Yes, there is a connection here and one in New Zealand I heard about.

Does anyone else have a connection to these people, m. in Keig in 1802? Their daughter, Elizabeth b. Dec 1816 according to a 1900 U.S. census, married John Smith in Insch in 1838.

John and Elizabeth came to the states about 1867-1869. I've found several of their children here. Graeme, Robert, Christina, Mary and Helen (noted as Ellen on several papers). Daughter Elizabeth stayed in Scotland, m. William Robert Dunbar. Their daughter Elizabeth Gilmore Smith Dunbar m. Edward Stitchell and later moved to Winnipeg Canada with children about 1913 on the Mauratania(according to what Grama said).
