My Great Grandmother wa Mary Ann Jane Hume Born 1875. Her Mother was Ellen and her mother Married W. W. F Hume in 1827 at Baltinglass, Co Wicklow and later that year in 1827 Ellen was born. Ellen's mother married wwf Hume when he was 22 Years old. Ellens mother I think died and WWF Hume then Marries Margaret Bruce Chaloner in 1829.
Ellen went to live with a Mr John Horan of Eadstown, Stratford on Slaney at the age of 2.He Was a tenant of Humewood.
Ellen Married Mr John Barrett at parish church, Killkenny 29 June 1856. They had 8 Children and my G Grandmother was one of the 8 - Mary Ann Jane Hume.
I don't know if ellen used Hume or Barrett or a combination of the two. I don' know who ellen's mother was but love to know.
WWF Hume cared and provided and kept in touch with Ellen as one of his own, even when he married Margaret but Margarets children inherited Humewood and the priviledge.
