I am researching the surnames Strickland and Usher in Newcastle Parish. My GGG Grandparents John Strickland a carpenter, son of Robert Strickland, and Catherine Usher, daughter of William Usher, married in Newcastle Parish Church of Ireland Church on 27 December 1850. Their first child, Jane, was born 3 February 1852 at Kilmullen, Newcastle Parish. By 1854 they were living in Blackrock, Co Dublin.

I believe that the Stricklands have lived in this area since at least 1700 as I have a Mary Stricland who died 1 September 1772 and is buried in Newcastle Parish Church of Ireland graveyard.

I also have a Katherine Streckland who died 16 May 1712 and is buried in Newcastle Parish Church of Ireland graveyard.
