Surnames: QUIGLEY, HUGHES
Looking for the origins of my James HUGHES ancestor. All I know is that he was born in Ireland about 1836 and he lists his parents as: James HUGHES (Sr.) and Bridget/Brigid QUIGLEY/CRIGLEY. James HUGHES (Jr.) came to the U.S. about 1850 and ended up working the coal mines in Missouri. He was Catholic, marrying a woman from County Mayo.
I have one researcher that found a Bridget QUIGLEY baptised in County Westmeath "Brigid or Bridget Quigley being born to John Quigley & Biddy Le Strange during May 1811 at Mullingar,Co.Westmeath. They were married at Mullingar in October 1805 and had three other children". This would seem likely fit in terms of age for my kin and now I need to see if this Bridget might have married a HUGHES.
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
