I am looking for the family of a William John Scott (b 1897 Belfast, No IRE). He was married a few times, once at least to Annie Allen Dunlop (b. 1899, Pollockshaws, Glasgow, SCO, d/o George Dunlop/Annie Allen) in Sarnia, ONT. William John Scotts father was also William John Scott (b. appx. 1857-1877, No IRE), who was married to Margaret Jane Crowe, and I believe was also married to Elizabeth McVea. Both William's moved to Ontario (Toronto area I believe) and William John 1897 eventually moved to Sarnia. If this is true, than William John Scott's (1856-1876) father was Alexander Scott who married Elizabeth Duncan. If anyone out there has any information on these Scott's of the Belfast area, could you please contact me at sho__ho@hotmail.com.
Thanks very much
Benjamin

I come from McVeas of County Down. I have extensive information on the McVeas that emigrated to the US - primarily Chicago, IL and Michigan. Would that be any relatives of yours? Some were from Belfast, Kircubbin, and I believe Rubane.
James McVea (born around 1794) married Mary Warnock on November 27,, 1818. Their children were: William, James, Thomas, Rachel, John, Samuel, Charles, and Mary Jane. These were the McVeas that emigrated to the US around 1851. Let me know if you think there is a connection.

Hi, I am looking for any relatives of a Thomas Bateson McVea (name as recorded on death record) who came to Australia in the 1840s. I cannot locate the exact arrival date but I know he purchased land in 1848 and he died in Victoria at Macs Hotel in 1858.

I am a McVea and I am sure that this Thomas is related as there are many Thomas Bateson McVeas in my family tree but I cannot find the connection.

I am also trying to find more information about a William McVea who died in Bendigo in 1865 - I cannot located any information about when he arrived in Australia.

I am wondering if one of these McVeas may be the Great Grandfather who went to Australia?

Hope you can help?
