I am looking for our family in Ulster, perhaps,Derry,Coleraine,Belfast,/Hollywood, ect. William was born to Thomas and Helen Gray Craige, April 29, 1694, in East Kilbride,Lanarkshire....when he came to Ulster...not sure..he married a widow, Margaret Logan Long, with one son, George....Their children were Samuel,John, David, Isabel, and James, my gggggrandad...James...his wife Rebecca, born about (1740)to James Ball and Rebeckah wilson Ball, they were Presbyterians. WHERE did they live in Ulster, when did they leave for America, (1740)? On what ship? What FAMILY did they leave BEHIND?? When did they land in Philadelphia? Before going on to Hawfields, and New Hope in Orange County,North Carolina??
William had a sister Elizabeth (Betsy) born in Derry (1714?) who married a Blackwood. IF you know any Craiges, or Craigs, or other interested parties,, PLEASE pass this message on to them...I have done 67 marker DNA testing with Family Tree, that is listed on "Y"-Search.org..I am certian we still have family in Ulster...Thank You so much for any help...Cheers, DICraig

In the current british telephone book for Northern Ireland there ae no Craige's listed
Whereas the name Craig has too many to list without a place.

Londonderry 24 Craig's and 22 Coleraine. 75 Belfast and 2 Hollywood (Solihull)
These come with a full address and postal codes. Try the Hollywood listings.
No Blackwood's listed in Northern Ireland
4 Ball's, Londonderry.

There are many books written about the Ulster Plantations, people not trees, from Scotland

The best place for passenger records is Ancestry as most smaller companies websites seem to have disappeared. If had any children in the USA you can use that date up to -2 years for date of immigration.

Parish records for Northern Ireland:
www.emeraldancestors.com and www.rootsireland.ie both are pay websites

PRONI, public records office Northern Ireland. You may find something there?

Good luck with your searching.

If you haven’t already, start searching Bill MacAfee website which should show you there are probably over 100 Craig[e] homesteads within 2 generations of his arrival i.e. other were there before him
http://www.billmacafee.com/1740returns/1740religiousreturnsu... then work backwards
