What is the family name you are looking for in the C'fergus and Newtownards area ? What years / Which centuries ? More detailed information would be a help as I have information on both Carrick and N'ards.

I have gone through the gravestone inscriptions in the Presbyterian, Church of Ireland and Roman Catholic cemeteries in Carrickfergus and surrounding parishes and no Haire's are listed. Are you certain this was the area ? Hare and O'Hare are names more associated with Co. Armagh than Antrim. Do you have any documents which suggest or name Carrickfergus ? Perhaps you should get Bartholomew's Ulster map and get parish lists from other nearby towns from the LDS library. I think you will need to narrow things down a it more.

Lucille,
I know where Carrickfergus is - my family are from there and I know it like the back of my hand. I'm not sure what you mean by,"do you have any surnames?". Which surnames are you looking for ?

Dear Hugh,
After I posted my reply to your messege, I thought I should have gone to previous messege. I did that after word, and realized my reply did not apply to your posting. What I meant by surname was the last name of your family. I did not see that in the first messege I saw. So just to say I thought I was helping. What family are you looking for? I will keep my eyes open.

Lucille,
There is some confusion. I have done my family research and was only trying to help you with yours.

Ok Hugh,
I am with the program now!! Oh my, just a little slow here. I was a bit confused, no fault of yours I might add. What do you think you might have for me. Lets go over what area's you think. I assume now you live in No. Ireland? If so maybe you could give me an idea about research. I surf the Internet, and come up with a million sites. But I just don't know the area good enough to get an idea what to look in. I plan to make a trip to our State Library. I will look at maps while I am there to start learning Fermanaugh. But I still am at a loss for finding Alexander Morton/wife Elizabeth Nayler. Thanks for your patience Hugh. I am a little slow on the draw this week. L.Morton
