My ancestors came to Canada c 1840,I believe he was born in Tyrone area c 1820,his name was Henry Allen and his mother was Anne Marshall. On his barn in Canada there are cutouts near the top at the ends that are similar to Celtic Crosses,I know these would have been for air circulation but is there a reason for the cross like shape? Are there any barns in the Irish district similar?I know the Irish at that time were very supersticious.
thanks for your input
