My grandmother was Mary Heeney who is said to have come from Sligo. Her parents were Bartholomew Heeney and Mary Scanlon Heeney. There were eight children: Mary, Margaret, Delia, Anne, Patrick, John, and twins Bartholomew and Sarah. All but one of the daughters immigrated to the US in the late 1800's-early 1900's.
