This is an unusual name, first time I've seen it in 5 years of helping others look for records:
Tithe Applotments 1823-1837 (now a census substitute)
www.genealogy.nationalarchives.ie1828 Pate Broggy, Parish Kilfenora, Co. Clare
Griffith Valuation took place in Ireland from 1847-1864 depending on the county, it too is now
a census substitute and the year is 1852:
www.askaboutireland.ieDaniel Broggy, Parish of Killeely, Townland Derrymore, Poor Law Union Limerick (could cover 1 or more counties)
Tenant of James Frost
#1a Daniel, house and land 3 acres 0 roods 35 perches
#2a Patrick, house and land 9.0.0
#17 Daniel, Patrick and 6 others sharing mountainland 141.0.2 (for grazing)
Parish Kilfenoa, was a parish and a townland in either the Poor Law Union of Corrofin or Ennistimon
Parish Killeely, a parish in the Poor Law Union of Limerick, would be within 12 mi. of Limerick City.
The baptism and marriage records for some parishes in Clare are now on line with
www.rootsireland.ie a history foundation, not for profit, but pay a fee
Only one parish has records that early. You just need to keep checking back.
This is the only online records for Clare that I know of and just a recent addition.
1901 Census:
Derrymore, Killeely DED
Ellen Broggy age 70 widow, born Tipperary
Mathew H. 34 son, born Clare, farmer
Catherine 39 daughter in law born Limerick
John 30, son, born Co. Clare, farmer
1911: this is the only Broggy in the 1911 census
#7 Derrynalecka, Kilmurry
Alice 76, head of house, widow, born Clare (where was she in the 1901 Census?)
Mary O'Connor, 40, daughter, born Clare, Widow (1901 has 90 Mary OConnors in Co. Clare
www.igp-web.com + county sometimes has good resources, depends on the county
I checked the online telephone book and no Broggy's now in Clare or Limerick, nor anywhere in Ireland, this does not include Northern Ireland. Nor does the Northern Ireland, UK telephone book.
