Elizabeth, if you're still around, let me know. This is getting interesting.
My Monaghan FARRELLS are in a bit of a muddle but I'll try to get through it.
Bridget FARRELL b 1870 Cloghan, Castleblaney, Co Mo. married John Matthew Gannon b. 1865 Williamsburg Brooklyn, ny. Bridget's parents were John FARRELL and Margaret Maron.
When John Matttew was a baby, his family fled NYC and went to Annyalla which is right next to Cloghan. JM's parents were Matthew Gannon and Mary FARRELL (b. 1838). They were married in Liverpool in 1864. Mary's parents were John and Ann FARRELL.
Other stuff I have makes it clear that Bridget was concerned about cousins marrying so it is a safe bet that John Matthew and Bridget were some degree of cousins.
John Matthew's parents were Matthew Gannon and Mary FARRELL.
Now for the interesting part:
Bridget Farrell Gannon named all her children after family members. Three generations on we are still doing it so it was a pretty strong impulse.
Bridget's second child was named AGNES and for life of me we cannot figure out where that came from. There are no Agneses on her mothers side of the family and we are pretty strong on data there.
Could your Agnes be my Mary's sister?
