Since the U.S. has not embraced the European electronic bank transfer system, yet, the economical choices are limited. U.S. bank tranfers, wire, money order, etc. are costly. When I to have pay for something in Europe and they are willing to accept a credit card, I usually get a specific name & phone number, and sometimes pre-arrange a call via email. I call using Skype and give the person my credit card info. I called Switzerland last week to confirm a hotel reservation. The Skype to phone call cost about five cents. This method obviates the need for providing you credit card info on an email, which multiple individuals may have acces to.
