Several HUGHES migrated about the time of the Patato Famine to Lafayette County, Missouri. I believe that they may have come from County Longford.
My ancestor, James Hughes was born Mar 3, 1836. He claims his parents were: James HUGHES and Bridget/Brigid/Bridig QUIGLEY/CRIGLEY.
Another two Hughes that were contemporaries to my James show their parents as:
John HUGHES and Ann BLEE?/BLACK?/BLUET? (for Ellen/Ann b: ~1834)
and Johne HUGHES and MARY HUGHES. (for John b: ~1824)

Looking for anyone that might have Catholic HUGHES of that era to check for fits.
