Our family has been traced back to William Maughlin of York County, PA, but we've been stuck for years as to his father's name. His father fought in the Battle of Culloden per Joseph, William's grandson (my great-great grandfather). Recently, we've found a letter from Ezemiah Maughlin to Mrs. AJ Maughlin (Joseph's son) that shows William lived for a time in County Derry/Londonderry, Northern Ireland and his church certificate was signed by the Session of Castle Dawson. Any further information would be greatly appreciated.
