Benjamin Mairs and Rachel Kennedy, my ggg grandparents, were born in Londonderry about 1770. They came to the USA with their eight children in about 1816 and finally settled in Steubenville, OH. I am interested in who their parents or siblings were that probably remained in Ireland.

Benjamin Mairs is on the 1796 list of Flax Growers in Ireland. I find only one Mairs listed in the Londonderry directory but this person is not a native of Londonderry. Someone in Londonderry must have information regarding Benjamin and/or Rachel. My gg grandfather, Joseph W. Mairs, MD, son of Benjamin and Rachel, was born in Londonderry about 1799. He settled in Grundy County,Missouri, as did most of his descendants, in about 1855.

I was born and raised in Grundy County, Missouri, USA, but have lived in Los Angeles County, California, for the past 63 years. I have considerable information about the descendants of Benjamin and Rachel (Kennedy) Mairs that I would be willing to share. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
