Timothy Brosnan is a recurring brick wall in my family's history.
Timothy is my great-great uncle (ie Grandfather's uncle).
Here's what I know:
Born 9 August 1878 to Daniel Brosnan and Catherine 'Kate' Kerrin/Kerin/Kerrins, County Kerry, Ireland. The family lived near and around Knockrour, Scartaglen, Castleisland.
Immigrated to New York City sometime before before September 1904.
Received a ring inscribed 'B to TB, July 1911'. My mother has this ring.
Timothy's brother, Michael Brosnan, also immigrated to NYC. Michael arrived in September 1904 and listed his brother 'Timmy' as his arrival contact. In 1918, Michael's WW1 draft card lists his nearest relative as 'Martin Brosnan'. In all that we know, there was no Martin in the Brosnan family. I wonder if Timothy changed his name/had the nickname of Martin? Odd, but not unheard of...
Michael Brosnan died in 1956 and is buried in Calvary Cemetery, Queens, NYC.
If anyone has any ideas of what happened to Timothy, OR if there are any resources that might help me find this guy, it would be much appreciated.
