I am looking for any info available about my grandfather, Thomas F. (Faulkner) MOONEY born 1900 in Ireland, died 1950 in MI.
He emigrated to US in his late teens-early 20's. He settled in Detroit County MI, where he met Olive NEUMAN (born 1898 in Sweden, died 1936-7 in MI) at a Protestant church, whom he married. They had 4 children: Thomas F. Jr. (1.23.25 - 12.15.75), Robert (died 1974-5), Margaret (1928-), and Kathryn (6.3.36-3.30.98)
I am told that FAULKNER is another branch in my family tree (maybe my grandfathers mother?), and that there are related FAULKNER's settled in New Zealand or Australia but can find out nothing else about that branch. I am also told that the "Faulkner" originated in Ireland because some of his ancestors were "falconers", whatever that means!
ANY assistance would be appreciated! Thanks...
