I am having problems trying to find irish records for my McCourt side of my family. Who listed themselves as from Ireland on the scottish census 1881 & 1901.
I have searched for all BMD on here plus other sites such as emerald ancestors & Find my past Ireland but ive not came up with a single record.

Does anyone have any advice regarding searching these records or have my McCourts also on their tree or maybe know where in ireland they came from?


My 2nd Great Grand father was James McCourt born abt 1853 in Ireland - Died in scotland. Married (in scotland in 1880) to Mary Ann Cassidy born abt 1860 also from Ireland.


3rd Great Grandfather Hugh McCourt born abt 1821-Died in scotland in 1882. Married to Helen/Ellen Flannigan born abt 1831 also from Ireland.


4th great Grandfather James McCourt Married to Catherine.
